Bio/Description

Ari Freedman joined the Levin group in 2020 as a Ph.D. student in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department.  He is primarily interested in developing new ways to measure and model the effects of various human behaviors on disease transmission
dynamics, through both data-driven and theoretical approaches.  Before joining the group, he worked in the Dwyer group at the University of Chicago studying the disease ecology of the Douglas fir tussock moth.  He continues to work on problems in disease ecology centered around anthropogenic disturbance and the evolution of virulence.
