Alison Robey will join the High Meadows Environmental Institute and the Levin Lab in September of 2026. She is a theoretical ecologist whose research broadly explores the responses of populations and communities to novel environmental stressors, with a particular focus on population dynamics under fluctuating conditions.

Alison completed her B.A. in Environmental Studies and Mathematics at Williams College in 2020, where she began her research career modeling invasive species spread with Prof. Julie Blackwood. She then spent a year working on models of airborne virus spread as a post-baccalaureate researcher with Dr. Laura Fierce at Brookhaven National Laboratory. She conducted her doctoral research in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from 2021 to 2026 with Prof. David Vasseur at Yale University. Alison’s Ph.D. work focused on how interactions between physiology and population dynamics affect temperature-driven risk under shifting thermal regimes. At Princeton, she plans to expand her research to incorporate key factors ranging from eco-evolutionary dynamics to interspecific interactions and applications to empirical systems. Her work is conducted in the labs of Prof. Simon Levin and Prof. Jonathan Levine.

Outside of research, Alison is an avid naturalist and can be found hiking, birding, and writing about the natural world.
